  1. Weekly Progress Report

    2/1 - 2/7

    Group: J2

    Report #: 1

    Date: 02/06/2009

    Meetings

    Meeting Dates: 1/27/2009 and 2/3/2009 – 3:30 pm

All meetings that took place were during class on Tuesdays from 3:30-6:15. At the first meeting we reviewed the project and what had to be done, and then assigned people different tasks. Chris Gray, Drew McPheeters, and Erik Santmyer were responsible for creating the Work Break Down Structure for the mechanical system and Mike Avallon, Chris Edwards, and Brent Brown were responsible for writing the mechanical system description, flow chart diagram, and peculiar items list. When out of meetings we used email for contact and sending completed tasks. We are currently planning to meet on Monday 2/9/2009 to review the presentation and all gathered information, though a time is not established at this point.

    Status of Old/Current Tasks:

As stated above, different tasks were assigned to different team members. After assigning tasks the first meeting, it was expected that come next meeting progress would be shown. The second meeting brought questions about the plans and progress on the mechanical system description and peculiar items list. There were questions about the WBS format and about symbols and systems on the plans. Following the second meeting, all work was emailed to Mike Avallon (PM) where it was compiled, formatted, and sent to Leland McCray.

Tasks on the horizon include finishing and formatting the PowerPoint presentation for Tuesday (2/10/2009) and meeting on Monday to answer any final questions and finalize what will be said.

    Issues/ Group Problems

Thus far, no problems have arisen between team members, and all work and cooperation has been well. Any questions or problems a team member has can easily be answered through an email or phone call to the rest of the team. The only foreseeable problem would be conflicts with meeting times as a group.

    Site Visit Observations:

No on-site visits were used for this assignment; however any simple questions about symbols or marks on the plans were typed into Google images to gain a better understanding.
